And the mixed multitude in their midst lusted with great lust. And the sons of Israel also turned and wept, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic. But now our soul is dried away; there is nothing at all besides this manna before our eyes.

And the whole congregation of the sons of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness. And the sons of Israel said to them, O that we had died by the hand of Jehovah in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh-pots, when we ate bread to the full! For you have brought us forth into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

And your sons shall feed in the wilderness forty years and bear your fornications, until your dead bodies have wasted in the wilderness.

And the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, and the people gathered themselves to Aaron. And they said to him, Up! Make us gods who shall go before us. For this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.

saying to Aaron, "Make us gods to go before us, for as for this Moses who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him."

They wandered in the wilderness, in a desert by the way; they found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

And when we pulled up stakes from Horeb, we went through all that great and terrible wilderness which you saw by the way of the mountain of the Amorites, as Jehovah our God commanded us. And we came to Kadesh-barnea.

Even the young shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall;

And they took Jeremiah and threw him into the pit of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, which was in the court of the prison. And they let Jeremiah down with ropes. And there was no water in the pit, only mud. So Jeremiah sank into the mud.

But when Jesus heard that John was thrown into prison, He went back into Galilee.

Do not at all fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the Devil will cast some of you into prison, so that you may be tried. And you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Fools are afflicted because of their rebellion, and because of their iniquities. Their soul hates all kinds of food; and they draw near the gates of death.

and if you shall despise My statutes, or if your soul hates My judgments, so that you will not do all My commandments, so that you break My covenant; I will also do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, consumption, and burning fever, consuming the eyes and causing sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

And now my soul is poured out within me; the days of affliction have taken hold on me. My bones are pierced in me in the night; and my gnawings never lie down.

My soul also is exceedingly troubled; but You, O Jehovah, how long?

And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and she was bowed together and was not able to be completely erect.

And a certain man was there, who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.

For He commands and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up its waves. They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths; their soul is melted because of trouble.

For You cast me into the depths of the seas, and the current surrounded me. All Your breakers and Your waves passed over me.

But when the fourteenth night came, we being carried about in the Adriatic Sea, about midnight the sailors thought that they drew near some country.

For the enemy has pursued my soul; he has beaten my life down to the ground; he has made me dwell in darkness, as those long dead.

And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven. And there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days.

My soul waits for Jehovah more than morning-watchers who are watching for the morning.

As a servant earnestly desires the shadow, and as a hireling looks for his wages,

But we should not lose heart in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not faint.

I know your works and your labor and your patience, and how you cannot bear those who are evil. And you tried those pretending to be apostles, and are not, and have found them liars. And you have borne, and have patience, and for My name's sake you have labored and have not fainted.

And there was a great famine in Samaria. And, behold, they besieged it until an ass's head was sold for eighty pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five silver pieces.

And the city was besieged until the eleventh year of King Zedekiah,

But the chief of the cupbearers said, Has my master sent me to your master and to you to speak these words, and not to the men who sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung and drink their own urine with you?

And it happened after many days the king of Egypt died. And the sons of Israel sighed because of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up to God because of the bondage.

Let as many slaves as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor, so that the name and doctrine of God may not be blasphemed.

Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear, not only to those good and forbearing, but also to the perverse ones.

When I lie down, I say, When shall I rise? But the night is long, and I am full of tossing to and fro until the dawning of the day.

My bones are pierced in me in the night; and my gnawings never lie down.

Then the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting. And diversions were not brought before him; and his sleep fled from him.

For consider Him who endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest you be weary and faint in your minds.

A foolish son is ruin to his father, and the quarreling of a wife is a never-ending dripping.

A never-ending dropping in a very rainy day and a quarrelsome woman are alike.

Can that which has no taste be eaten without salt? Or is there taste in the white of an egg?

Let your speech be always with grace, having been seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
