But to one that works the reward is not accounted by grace but by debt. But to one that works not, but believes on him that justifies the wicked, his faith is [accounted] for righteousness.

Take what belongs to you, and go, for I will give to the last even as to you. Is it not right for me to do what I will with my own? Is your eye evil because I am good?

But which of you having a servant plowing, or keeping sheep, will say to him when he comes in from the field, Come immediately and sit down? but will he not say to him, Prepare something that I may take supper, and gird yourself and wait on me till I eat and drink, and after that do you eat and drink? Does he thank the servant because he did the things commanded him?read more.
So also you, when you have done all things commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants; what we owed the doing of; we have done.

but if by grace, no longer by works; for otherwise grace is no longer grace; but if by works, it is no longer grace; for otherwise a work is no longer a work. What then? What Israel seeks, this it did not obtain, but the election obtained; and the rest were hardened,??8 as it is written, God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear??o this day.

For by grace are you saved through the faith; and that not of you; [it is] the gift of God; not of works, that no one may boast; for we are his creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, in which God before appointed that we should walk.

who will render to each according to his works; to those who by patience in good works seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life; but to those who are contentions and disobey the truth, and obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath.read more.
Affliction and distress [shall be] on every soul of man that does evil, both the Jew first and the Greek; and glory and honor and peace to every one that does good, both the Jew first and the Greek. For there is no respect of persons with God.

He that plants and he that waters are one; and each shall receive his reward according to his labor.

And [consider] this, He that sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly, and he that sows liberally shall reap also liberally.

Be not deceived, God is not mocked. For what a man sows, that shall he also reap; for he that sows for his flesh, shall of the flesh reap destruction; but he that sows for the Spirit, shall of the Spirit reap life eternal. Let us not be weary of well doing; for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.

knowing that whatever good each one does, for this he shall receive from the Lord, whether a servant or a freeman.

for he that does wrong shall receive for the wrong which he has done, and there is no respect of persons.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life by Christ Jesus our Lord.

since it is just with God to repay affliction to those who afflict you,

We ought therefore to attend the more to the things which we heard, lest at any time we should glide away [from them]. For if the word spoken by angels was firm, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense,

And if children, [we are] also heirs, heirs indeed of God and co-heirs with Christ, if we suffer with him that we may also be glorified with him. For I think that the sufferings of the present time are of no account in comparison with the glory to be revealed in us.

Rejoice and exult, for great is your reward in heaven; for so persecuted they the prophets who were before you.

And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what thanks have you? sinners also lend to sinners, to receive back as much again. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be children of the Most High; for he is good to the unthankful and evil.

but as it is written, An eye has not seen, an ear has not heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those that love him; but God has revealed them to us by his Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.

But he that looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, not being a forgetful hearer but a doer of work, he shall be blessed in his doing.

and being found in form like a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient even till death, and the death of the cross. Wherefore God also highly exalted him, and gave him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of beings in heaven and in the earth and under the earth,read more.
and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

looking to the chief guide and perfecter of the faith, Jesus, who for the joy set before him despised the shame and endured the cross, and sat down on the right hand of God. For consider him that has endured such a contradiction from sinners, that you may not become faint and weary in your minds.

Blessed are the persecuted for righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

And all who will live piously in Christ Jesus shall be persecuted.
