And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and beat him; and having blindfolded him, they asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that struck thee? And many other things did they scoffingly say against him.

Then they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and some smote him with the palms of their hands, saying, Prophesy to us, O Messiah! who it was that struck thee.

And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face and buffet him, and say to him, Prophesy! And the officers, with blows, took him in charge.

And Herod also with his guard of soldiers set him at nought and mocked him, and having arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, sent him back to Pilate.

Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the governors palace, and gathered to him the whole band. And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. And having platted a crown of thorns, they put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and bowing the knee before him, they mocked him, saying, Hail, king of the Jews!read more.

He saved others, cannot he save himself? He is the king of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe in him.
