This man came to him by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou hast come as a teacher from God; for no one can do these signs which thou doest, unless God be with him.

I manifested thy name to the men whom thou gavest me out of the world. Thine they were, and thou gavest them to me; and they have kept thy word.

And no one hath ascended into heaven, but he who came down from heaven, even the Son of man.

All things were delivered to me by my Father; and no one knoweth the Son but the Father; nor doth any one know the Father, but the Son, and he to whom it is the will of the Son to reveal him.

I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

for I have given to them the words which thou hast given me; and they received them, and knew surely that I came forth from thee, and believed that thou didst send me.

I have many things to say, and to judge, concerning you; but he who sent me is true; and I speak to the world what I heard from him.

Dost thou not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak to you, I speak not from myself; but the Father, who dwelleth in me, doeth his works.

And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God:

and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him that loveth us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

But he said to them, I must publish the good tidings of the kingdom of God to the other cities also; because for this I was sent forth.

who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also was Moses in all his house.

Moses indeed said, "A prophet will the Lord your God raise up to you from among your brethren, as be raised up me; him shall ye hear in all things, whatever he shall speak to you.

He saith, Yes. And when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? Of whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes? Of their own sons, or of strangers?

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he anointed me to preach glad tidings to the poor; he hath sent me to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty the oppressed,

For he whom God sent speaketh the words of God; for he giveth not the Spirit by measure.

And they were all amazed, so that they questioned each other, saying, What is this? New teaching with authority; even the unclean spirits doth he command, and they obey him!

And having come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and the miracles?

The officers answered, Never man spoke like this man.

And they were astonished at his teaching; for his word was with authority.

And it shall come to pass, that every soul which doth not hear that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people."

how shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation, which at the first was spoken through the Lord, and was confirmed to us through those who heard him,

and will level thee with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they will not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

And when he came near, as he beheld the city, he wept over it,

And as he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when will these things be? and what will be the signs of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And ye are to hear of wars, and rumors of wars; see that ye be not troubled; for these things must come to pass; but not yet is the end. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines and earthquakes in divers places. But all these things are the beginning of travailpains. Then will they deliver you up to distress, and will kill you; and ye will be hated by all nations on account of my name. And then will many fall away; and will deliver up one another, and will hate one another. And many false prophets will arise, and will deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of the many will wax cold. But he that endureth to the end will be saved. And these glad tidings of the kingdom will be published throughout the whole world for a testimony to all the nations; and then will come the end. When, therefore, ye see the abomination of desolation, spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place, (let him that readeth understand,) then let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains; let not him that is on the housetop go down to take away the things belonging to his house; and let not him that is in the field turn back to take his garment. And woe to the women with child, and to those with children at the breast, in those days! And pray that your flight be not in winter, nor on a sabbath. For there will then be great distress, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world to this time; no, nor shall ever be. And were not those days to shortened, no flesh would be saved; but, for the sake of the chosen, these days will be shortened. Then if any one say to you, Lo! here is the Christ; or there, believe him not. For there will rise up false Christs, and false prophets, and will show great signs and wonders, so that, if possible, even the chosen will be deceived. Lo! I have told you beforehand. If therefore they say to you, Lo! he is in the wilderness; go not forth; lo! he is in the private chambers; believe them not. For as the lightning cometh from the east, and shineth even to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of man. Wherever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together. And immediately after the distress of those days will the sun be darkened, and the moon will not give her light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then will appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and will see the Son of man coming upon the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send forth his angels with a great trumpet, and they will gather his chosen from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. And from the figtree learn its parable. When its branch hath now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that summer is near. So also, when ye see all these things, know ye that he is near, at the doors. Truly do I say to you, This generation will not pass away, till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

The blind receive sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised, and to the poor good tidings are brought;

But he said to them, I must publish the good tidings of the kingdom of God to the other cities also; because for this I was sent forth.

And he went round the whole of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the glad tidings of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

And the child grew, and waxed strong, being filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon him.

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

And all who heard him were astonished at his understanding and his answers.

that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, "Behold my servant, whom I chose; my beloved, with whom my soul is well pleased; I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will declare judgment to the nations. He will not strive, nor cry aloud, nor will any one hear his voice in the streets. read more.
A bruised reed he will not break, and smoking flax he will not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
