10 Bible Verses about Self Delusion

And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do? for I have not where to store my crops. And he said, This will I do; I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I store all my crops and my goods; and I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast many goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, be merry.

and in all deceit of unrighteousness for those who are perishing; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God sendeth them a working of delusion, that they may believe the falsehood;

The Pharisee stood and prayed by himself thus: O God, I thank thee that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

Because thou sayest, I am rich, and have gotten wealth, and have need of nothing, and knowest not that thou art the wretched and the pitiable one, and poor, and blind, and naked,

Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in thy name, and in thy name cast out demons, and in thy name work many miracles?

and think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham for our father; for I say to you, that God is able out of these stones to raise up children to Abraham.

When once the master of the house shall have risen, and shut the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, open to us, and he answering shall say to you, I know not whence ye are; then will ye begin to say, We ate and drank in thy presence, and thou didst teach in our streets.

and saying, Where is his promised coming? for, from the time when the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as then, and as they have continued from the beginning of the creation.

and I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast many goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, be merry.

Come now, ye that say, Today and tomorrow we will go into such a city, and spend a year there and traffic, and get gain,
