But the LORD had said unto Abram, Depart out of thy country and from thy nature and from thy father's house unto a land that I will show thee;

and said unto him, Get thee out of thy country and from thy kindred and come into the land which I shall show thee.

He has put my brethren far from me, and my acquaintances are verily estranged from me. My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.

Then said he also to him that invited him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen nor thy rich neighbours, lest they also invite thee again, and a recompense be made thee.
