But ye know this, that if the housholder had known, in what watch the thief would have come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broke open. Therefore be ye also ready: for at an hour ye think not, the Son of man cometh.

Watch ye therefore; for ye know not when the master of the house cometh; at evening, or at midnight, or at cock-crowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

According as it is written, God hath given them a spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, unto this day.
And do this, knowing the season, that it is high time now to awake out of sleep; for salvation is nearer to us now, then when we first believed. The night is far spent; the day is at hand, let us therefore put off the works of darkness, and put on the armour of light.
Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, which are ready to die; for I have not found thy works compleat before my God.
(Behold I come as a thief. Happy is he that watcheth and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.)
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing; but the flesh is weak.
But of that day and hour knoweth no one, no, not the angels that are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take heed; watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
which is the word of God, Praying alway by the Spirit with all prayer and supplication, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,
Therefore let us not sleep as the others, but let us awake and keep awake. For they that sleep, sleep in the night, and they that are drunken are drunken in the night. But let us who are of the day keep awake, having put on the breast-plate of faith and love, and for an helmet the hope of salvation.
for your adversary the devil, walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour:
