And this is the message that we have heard from him and declare to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

How then can man be just with God? Or how can he be clean who is born of a woman? Behold, even the moon has no brightness. And the stars are not pure in his sight. How much less man, who is a worm! And the son of man, who is a worm!

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil, who put darkness for light, and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from every sin.

And the city has no need of the sun, nor of the moon, so that they might shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it, and the light of it is the Lamb.

In the dark they dig through houses. They shut themselves up in the daytime. They do not know the light. For the morning is to all of them as thick darkness. For they know the terrors of the thick darkness.

And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
