Wherefore also Jesus, that he might purify the people through his blood, suffered without the gate. Let us therefore go out to him without the encampment, bearing his reproach;
And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and surrounded the encampment of the saints and the beloved city; and fire came down from heaven and consumed them.
While Peter was yet speaking these words the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word.
and he said to them, Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed? And they said to him, We have not heard that there is a Holy Spirit.
and he that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because it makes intercession with God for the saints.

Let him that has an ear hear what the Spirit says to the churches; To him that conquers will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of my God.
And his disciples came and said to him, Why do you speak to them in parables? And he answered and said to them, Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given;
And he said to them, Who say you that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonas, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father in heaven.
Then he opened their understanding to understand the Scriptures, and said to them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise from the dead on the third day,
