But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for such worshippers the Father seeketh. God is a spirit; and they who worship must worship in spirit and in truth.

For we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God, and glory in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh;

And Zachariah his father was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying, Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel! for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

And he came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the law, he took him in his arms, and blessed God, and said,

In that hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that, though thou didst hide these things from the wise and discerning, thou didst reveal them to babes. Yea, Father, for so it seemed good in thy sight. And turning to the disciples he said,

But if all prophesy, and there come in one that is an unbeliever, or unlearned, he is convinced by all, he is searched through by all, the secrets of his heart become manifest; and so falling down on his face, he will worship God, and report that God is indeed within you.

And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, as on us at the beginning. And I remembered the word of the Lord, that he said, John indeed baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Since then God gave the like gift to them as to us, on believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?read more.
And when they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, So then to the gentiles also God hath granted repentance unto life.

But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, that God chose you from the beginning to salvation in sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth;

And be not drunk with wine, in which is dissoluteness, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always for all things to God, the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

While Peter was yet speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all that heard the word. And those of the circumcision who believed, as many as came with Peter, were astonished that on the gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit; for they heard them speaking with tongues, and magnifying God. Then answered Peter,

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, in grace singing in your hearts to God; and whatever ye do, in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God, the Father, through him.
