Through him therefore let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips giving thanks to his name. But works of kindness and liberality forget not; for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

For the Law but shadowing forth the good things to come, and not having the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices which they offer year by year continually make those who come with them perfect. For in that case would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshippers, having been once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins? For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.

And they who are in the flesh cannot please God.

For ye have need of endurance; that, after ye have done the will of God, ye may receive what is promised. For yet a very little while, and "he that is to come will come, and will not tarry. Now my righteous man shall live by faith; but if he draw back, my soul hath no pleasure in him."
