10 Bible Verses about The Rich Lording It

But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment-seats?

The poor useth entreaties; but the rich answereth roughly.

The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.

The poor is hated even by his own neighbor: but the rich hath many friends.

For if there come into your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;

Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bed-chamber: for a bird of the air will carry the voice, and that which hath wings will tell the matter.

And the LORD sent Nathan to David. And he came to him, and said to him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor. And there came a traveler to the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the way-faring man that had come to him; but took the poor man's lamb, and dressed it for the man that had come to him.

And now will I show thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.

For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.

How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands.
