By this you know the Spirit of God; every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit which confesses him not, is not from God. And this is that spirit of Antichrist of which you have heard that it is coming, and that now it is already in the world.
"And we are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey him."
Wherefore I want you to understand that no one who speaks in the Spirit of God says, "Jesus is accursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except in the Holy Spirit.
John also bore this testimony, saying. "I saw the Spirit like a dove descend from heaven and rest upon him. And I did not recognize him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, 'The one on whom you see the Spirit descending and resting upon him, is he who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.' This I have seen, and I am become a witness to the fact that he is the Son of God."
Then he consented. And after Jesus was baptized, as soon as he rose out of the water, lo! the heavens opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon him,
and as soon as he rose from the water he saw the sky cleft asunder, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him,
heaven opened, and the Holy Spirit, in bodily form like a dove, descended upon him. and a voice came out of heaven, saying. "Thou art my Son, dearly beloved; in thee is my delight."
"When the Comforter is come whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth who comes forth from the Father, he will bear witness of me;
"But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and bring to your remembrance everything that I have told you.
But when he is come, that Spirit of Truth, he will guide you into the whole truth. For he will not speak on his own authority, but all that he hears he will speak, and will make known to you that which is to come. He will glorify me; for he will take of what is mine and will make known to you.
Jesus Christ is he who came by water and blood, not by the water only, but by the water and by the blood. The spirit is he who bears testimony, because the Spirit is the truth.
He who keeps his commandments is abiding in Him, and Christ in him. By this we know that Christ is abiding in us, by the Spirit which he has given us.
By this we come to know that we are abiding in him, and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit;
For there are three who bear testimony, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood; and the three are one. If we accept men's testimony, the testimony of God is greater; for this is the testimony of God, that he has borne testimony concerning his Son.read more.
He who believes on the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who does not believe God, has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son.
For by one single offering he has perfected forever those whom he is sanctifying. And the Holy Spirit also gives his testimony, when he said: "This is the covenant I will make with them After those days," says the Lord. "I will set my laws upon their hearts, And I will inscribe them on their minds."read more.
Then he adds, And their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
For you have not received a spirit of slavery in order that you should once more be afraid; but you have received a spirit of adoption, in which we cry out, "My Father, my dear Father!" For his Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are children of God;
And because you are sons, God sent forth the spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, "Dear, dear Father!"
