Moses went back down the mountain. He carried the two stone tablets with the commandments written on both sides.

He told you what you must do to keep the covenant he made with you. You must obey the Ten Commandments, which he wrote on two stone tablets.

Jehovah spoke to us when we gathered on the mountain. He spoke with a loud voice from the dark fiery cloud. Jehovah gave us these words, and only these. Then he wrote them on two flat tablets of stone and gave them to me.

I took hold of the two tablets and threw them from my hands and smashed them before your eyes.

So I turned and came down from the mountain while the mountain was burning with fire. I carried the two stone tablets of the covenant in my two hands.

Jehovah said to Moses: Cut two more stone tablets like the first ones. I will write on them the words that were on the first tablets that you smashed.

Moses cut two more stone tablets. Early the next morning he carried them up Mount Sinai, just as Jehovah commanded.

Moses came down from Mount Sinai. The two tablets of the testimony were in Moses' hand as he came down from the mountain. Moses did not know that the skin of his face glowed because he spoke with God.

Jehovah said to me: 'Cut out for yourself two tablets of stone like the former ones. Come up to me on the mountain, and build an ark of wood for yourself.

I made an Ark out of acacia wood and cut out two tablets of stone like the first ones. Then I took the two tablets in my hands and went up on the mountain.
