But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying: Arise and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel; for they are dead who sought the young child's life. But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of Herod his father, he was afraid to go thither. But being warned in a dream, he with drew into the regions of Galilee,

But Mary stood without near the tomb, weeping; and as she wept, she stooped down and looked into the tomb, and saw two angels in white raiment, sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the foot, where the body of Jesus had lain. And they said to her: Woman, why do you weep? She said to them: They have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.
