15 Bible Verses about Writing The New Testament

but these have been written so that you may believe [with a deep, abiding trust] that Jesus is the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed), the Son of God; and that by believing [and trusting in and relying on Him] you may have life in His name.

We are writing these things to you so that our joy [in seeing you included] may be made complete [by having you share in the joy of salvation].

This is the same disciple who is testifying to these things and has recorded them; and we know [without any doubt] that his testimony is true.

My little children (believers, dear ones), I am writing you these things so that you will not sin and violate God’s law. saying, “Write on a scroll what you see [in this revelation], and send it to the seven churches—to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.”

So write the things which you have seen [in the vision], and the things which are [now happening], and the things which will take place after these things.

And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were recorded one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.

it seemed fitting for me as well, [and so I have decided] after having carefully searched out and investigated all the events accurately, from the very beginning, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus;
