'Asking' in the Bible
In the meanwhile the disciples were asking him, saying, "Rabbi, eat [something]!"
So when the Samaritans came to him, they began asking him to stay with them. And he stayed there two days.
And when they persisted in asking him, straightening up he said to them, "The [one] of you without sin, let him throw the first stone at her!"
So the Pharisees also were asking him again how he received sight. And he said to them, "He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see."
So these approached Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and began asking him saying, "Sir, we want to see Jesus."
But now I am going away to the one who sent me, and none of you is asking me, 'Where are you going?'
I am asking on behalf of them. I am not asking on behalf of the world, but on behalf of those whom you have given me, because they are yours,
Why are you asking me? Ask those who heard what I have said to them! Behold, these [people] know what I said."
