'Behalf' in the Bible

He is the God who executes vengeance on my behalf; who destroys nations under me;

Come and see the awesome works of God on behalf of human beings:

Let them give thanks to the LORD for his gracious love and for his awesome deeds on behalf of mankind.

I know that the LORD will act on behalf of the tormented, providing justice for the needy.
