'Bondage' in the Bible
knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him , that the body of sin might be done away, that so we should no longer be in bondage to sin;
I speak humanly on account of the weakness of your flesh. For even as ye have yielded your members in bondage to uncleanness and to lawlessness unto lawlessness, so now yield your members in bondage to righteousness unto holiness.
But seeing that we have died to that which once held us in bondage, the Law has now no hold over us, so that we render a service which, instead of being old and formal, is new and spiritual.
For we know that the Law is spiritual, but I am of flesh, sold into bondage to sin.
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
