'Choose' in the Bible
He will eat curds and honey at the time He knows enough to refuse evil and choose good.
For before the boy will know enough to refuse evil and choose good, the land whose two kings you dread will be forsaken.
When the Lord will have compassion on Jacob and again choose Israel, and settle them in their own land, then strangers will join them and attach themselves to the house of Jacob.
For thus says the Lord,“To the eunuchs who keep My sabbaths,And choose what pleases Me,And hold fast My covenant,
“Is it a fast like this which I choose, a day for a man to humble himself? Is it for bowing one’s head like a reedAnd for spreading out sackcloth and ashes as a bed? Will you call this a fast, even an acceptable day to the Lord?
“Is this not the fast which I choose,To loosen the bonds of wickedness,To undo the bands of the yoke,And to let the oppressed go freeAnd break every yoke?
So I will choose their punishmentsAnd will bring on them what they dread.Because I called, but no one answered;I spoke, but they did not listen. And they did evil in My sightAnd chose that in which I did not delight.”
