'Couches' in the Bible

“Judah is a lion’s whelp;From the prey, my son, you have gone up.He couches, he lies down as a lion,And as a lion, who dares rouse him up?

“He couches, he lies down as a lion,And as a lion, who dares rouse him?Blessed is everyone who blesses you,And cursed is everyone who curses you.”

And of Joseph he said,“Blessed by the Lord be his land,With the precious things of heaven, with the dew,And from the deep water that lies beneath,

White and violet linen hangings were fastened with fine white and purple linen cords to silver rods on marble columns. Gold and silver couches were arranged on a mosaic pavement of red feldspar, marble, mother-of-pearl, and precious stones.

May those he loves be exalted, singing for joy on their couches.

Then he enters into peace, and they'll rest on his couches, each one living righteously.

Therefore they will now be the first to go into exile, and the religious banquets where they sprawl on couches will end.
