'Days' in the Bible
Now it will come about thatIn the last daysThe mountain of the house of the LordWill be established as the chief of the mountains,And will be raised above the hills;And all the nations will stream to it.
Now it came about in the days of Ahaz, the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Aram and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up to Jerusalem to wage war against it, but could not conquer it.
The Lord will bring on you, on your people, and on your father’s house such days as have never come since the day that Ephraim separated from Judah, the king of Assyria.”
Hyenas will howl in their fortified towersAnd jackals in their luxurious palaces.Her fateful time also will soon comeAnd her days will not be prolonged.
Now in that day Tyre will be forgotten for seventy years like the days of one king. At the end of seventy years it will happen to Tyre as in the song of the harlot:
They will be gathered togetherLike prisoners in the dungeon,And will be confined in prison;And after many days they will be punished.
In the days to come Jacob will take root,Israel will blossom and sprout,And they will fill the whole world with fruit.
The light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven days, on the day the Lord binds up the fracture of His people and heals the bruise He has inflicted.
Within a year and a few daysYou will be troubled, O complacent daughters;For the vintage is ended,And the fruit gathering will not come.
In those days Hezekiah became mortally ill. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him and said to him, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.’”
“The Lord will surely save me;So we will play my songs on stringed instrumentsAll the days of our life at the house of the Lord.”
‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house and all that your fathers have laid up in store to this day will be carried to Babylon; nothing will be left,’ says the Lord.
Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The word of the Lord which you have spoken is good.” For he thought, “For there will be peace and truth in my days.”
Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord;Awake as in the days of old, the generations of long ago.Was it not You who cut Rahab in pieces,Who pierced the dragon?
But the Lord was pleasedTo crush Him, putting Him to grief;If He would render Himself as a guilt offering,He will see His offspring,He will prolong His days,And the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.
“For this is like the days of Noah to Me,When I swore that the waters of NoahWould not flood the earth again;So I have sworn that I will not be angry with youNor will I rebuke you.
“Your sun will no longer set,Nor will your moon wane;For you will have the Lord for an everlasting light,And the days of your mourning will be over.
In all their affliction He was afflicted,And the angel of His presence saved them;In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them,And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old.
Then His people remembered the days of old, of Moses.Where is He who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of His flock?Where is He who put His Holy Spirit in the midst of them,
“No longer will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days,Or an old man who does not live out his days;For the youth will die at the age of one hundredAnd the one who does not reach the age of one hundredWill be thought accursed.
“They will not build and another inhabit,They will not plant and another eat;For as the lifetime of a tree, so will be the days of My people,And My chosen ones will wear out the work of their hands.
