'Deceit' in the Bible

Why has this people turned away? Why does Jerusalem continue in apostasy? They hold on to deceit and refuse to repent.

Their tongue is a deadly arrow that speaks deceit. With his mouth a person says, "Peace,' to his friend, but inwardly he sets a trap for him.

How long will this go on? Is there anything in the hearts of the prophets who prophesy lies, and who prophesy from the deceit that is in their hearts?
