'Disgrace' in the Bible

On that day seven womenwill seize one man, saying,“We will eat our own breadand provide our own clothing.Just let us be called by your name.Take away our disgrace.”

wind you up into a ball, and sling you into a wide land. There you will die, and there your glorious chariots will be—a disgrace to the house of your lord.

The Lord of Hosts planned it,to desecrate all its glorious beauty,to disgrace all the honored ones of the earth.

He will destroy death forever.The Lord God will wipe away the tearsfrom every faceand remove His people’s disgracefrom the whole earth,for the Lord has spoken.

But Pharaoh’s protection will become your shame,and refuge in Egypt’s shadow your disgrace.

They said to him, “This is what Hezekiah says: ‘Today is a day of distress, rebuke, and disgrace, for children have come to the point of birth, and there is no strength to deliver them.

Listen to Me, you who know righteousness,the people in whose heart is My instruction:do not fear disgrace by men,and do not be shattered by their taunts.

“Do not be afraid, for you will not be put to shame;don’t be humiliated, for you will not be disgraced.For you will forget the shame of your youth,and you will no longer rememberthe disgrace of your widowhood.

Because your shame was double,and they cried out, “Disgrace is their portion,”therefore, they will possess double in their land,and eternal joy will be theirs.
