'Expected' in the Bible
Israel said to Joseph, "I never expected to see you again, but now God has allowed me to see your children too."
David said to Jonathan, "Tomorrow is the new moon, and I am certainly expected to join the king for a meal. You must send me away so I can hide in the field until the third evening from now.
But when I hoped for good, trouble came; when I expected light, then darkness came.
