'Getting' in the Bible
They had no children because Elizabeth was barren and because both of them were getting old.
Then Zechariah asked the angel, "How can I be sure of this, since I am an old man, and my wife is getting older?"

But they urged Him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is getting toward evening, and the day is now nearly over.” So He went in to stay with them.
