'Gorged' in the Bible
Then Jeshurun became fat and rebelled—you became fat, bloated, and gorged. He abandoned the God who made himand scorned the Rock of his salvation.
The sword of the Lord is filled with blood [from sacrifices],It drips with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats,With the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah (Edom’s capital city)And a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
Woe to you who are well-fed (gorged, satiated) now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now [enjoying a life of self-indulgence], for you will mourn and weep [and deeply long for God].
The rest were killed by the sword that belonged to the rider on the horse and that came from his mouth, and all the birds gorged themselves with their flesh.
