'Grass' in the Bible
Therefore, as a tongue of fire consumes stubbleAnd dry grass collapses into the flame,So their root will become like rot and their blossom blow away as dust;For they have rejected the law of the Lord of hostsAnd despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
For the waters of Nimrim are desolate.Surely the grass is withered, the tender grass died out,There is no green thing.
The scorched land will become a poolAnd the thirsty ground springs of water;In the haunt of jackals, its resting place,Grass becomes reeds and rushes.
“Therefore their inhabitants were short of strength,They were dismayed and put to shame;They were as the vegetation of the field and as the green herb,As grass on the housetops is scorched before it is grown up.
A voice says, “Call out.”Then he answered, “What shall I call out?”All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.
The grass withers, the flower fades,When the breath of the Lord blows upon it;Surely the people are grass.

And they will spring up among the grassLike poplars by streams of water.’
“I, even I, am He who comforts you.Who are you that you are afraid of man who diesAnd of the son of man who is made like grass,
Then you will see this, and your heart will be glad,And your bones will flourish like the new grass;And the hand of the Lord will be made known to His servants,But He will be indignant toward His enemies.
