'Guardian' in the Bible
Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?”“I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother’s guardian?”
Mordecai was the legal guardian of his cousin Hadassah (that is, Esther), because she didn’t have a father or mother. The young woman had a beautiful figure and was extremely good-looking. When her father and mother died, Mordecai had adopted her as his own daughter.
You were an anointed guardian cherub,for I had appointed you.You were on the holy mountain of God;you walked among the fiery stones.
Through the abundance of your trade,you were filled with violence, and you sinned.So I expelled you in disgracefrom the mountain of God,and banished you, guardian cherub,from among the fiery stones.
