'Hungry' in the Bible
“Those who were full hire themselves out for bread,But those who were hungry cease [to hunger].Even the barren [woman] gives birth to seven,But she who has many children withers away.
honey, cream, sheep, and cheese of the herd, for David and the people who were with him, to eat; for they said, “The people are hungry and weary and thirsty in the wilderness.”
His servant said, “How am I to set [only] this before a hundred [hungry] men?” He said, “Give it to the people so that they may eat, for thus says the Lord, ‘They shall eat and have some left.’”
Then the king got up in the night and said to his servants, “I will tell you what the Arameans have done to us. They know that we are hungry; so they have left the camp to hide themselves in the open country, thinking, ‘When they come out of the city, we shall take them alive and get into the city.’”
“The hungry devour his harvestAnd take it even [when it grows] among the thorns;The trap opens for [his] wealth.
“You have not given water to the weary to drink,And you have withheld bread from the hungry.
“They cause the poor to go about naked without clothing,And they take away the sheaves [of grain] from the hungry.
“If I were hungry, I would not tell you,For the world and all it contains are Mine.
For He satisfies the parched throat,And fills the hungry appetite with what is good.
And there He has the hungry dwell,So that they may establish an inhabited city,
Who executes justice for the oppressed,Who gives food to the hungry.The Lord sets free the prisoners.
People do not despise a thief if he stealsTo satisfy himself when he is hungry;
If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat;And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;
He who is satisfied loathes honey,But to the hungry soul any bitter thing is sweet.
They [who consult mediums and soothsayers] will pass through the land deeply distressed and hungry, and when they are hungry, they will become enraged and will curse their king and their God as they look upward.

The ironsmith shapes iron and uses a chisel and works it over the coals. He forms the [idol’s] core with hammers and works it with his strong arm. He also becomes hungry and his strength fails; he drinks no water and grows tired.
“Is it not to divide your bread with the hungryAnd bring the homeless poor into the house;When you see the naked, that you cover him,And not to hide yourself from [the needs of] your own flesh and blood?
And if you offer yourself to [assist] the hungryAnd satisfy the need of the afflicted,Then your light will rise in darknessAnd your gloom will become like midday.
Therefore, the Lord God says this,“Listen carefully, My servants will eat, but you will be hungry;Indeed, My servants will drink, but you will be thirsty;Indeed, My servants will rejoice, but you will be put to shame.
saying, “No, but we will go to the land of Egypt, where we will not see war or hear the sound of the [warrior’s] trumpet or hunger for bread, and we will stay there,”
Those killed with the swordAre more fortunate than those killed with hunger;For the hungry pine and ebb away,For the lack of the fruits of the field.
