'Hungry' in the Bible
They will pass through the land hard-pressed and famished, and it will turn out that when they are hungry, they will be enraged and curse their king and their God as they face upward.
They slice off what is on the right hand but still are hungry,And they eat what is on the left hand but they are not satisfied;Each of them eats the flesh of his own arm.
It will be as when a hungry man dreams—And behold, he is eating;But when he awakens, his hunger is not satisfied,Or as when a thirsty man dreams—And behold, he is drinking,But when he awakens, behold, he is faintAnd his thirst is not quenched.Thus the multitude of all the nations will beWho wage war against Mount Zion.
For a fool speaks nonsense,And his heart inclines toward wickedness:To practice ungodliness and to speak error against the Lord,To keep the hungry person unsatisfiedAnd to withhold drink from the thirsty.
The man shapes iron into a cutting tool and does his work over the coals, fashioning it with hammers and working it with his strong arm. He also gets hungry and his strength fails; he drinks no water and becomes weary.
“Is it not to divide your bread with the hungryAnd bring the homeless poor into the house;When you see the naked, to cover him;And not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
And if you give yourself to the hungryAnd satisfy the desire of the afflicted,Then your light will rise in darknessAnd your gloom will become like midday.
Therefore, thus says the Lord God,“Behold, My servants will eat, but you will be hungry.Behold, My servants will drink, but you will be thirsty.Behold, My servants will rejoice, but you will be put to shame.
