'Mean' in the Bible

"{What do you mean by} quoting this proverb about the land of Israel, {saying}, 'The fathers, they ate unripe fruit, and the teeth of the child became blunt.'

And the people said to me, "Will you not make known to us what these [things] that you are doing [mean] for us?"

{When} {your people} say to you, {saying}, 'Will you not inform us [as to] what these [actions] mean for you?'
