'Mercy' in the Bible

Do not let mercy and kindness and truth leave you [instead let these qualities define you];Bind them [securely] around your neck,Write them on the tablet of your heart.

Or you will give your honor to others,And your years to the cruel one,

Do they not go astray who devise evil and wander from the way of righteousness?But kindness and truth will be to those who devise good.

By mercy and lovingkindness and truth [not superficial ritual] wickedness is cleansed from the heart,And by the fear of the Lord one avoids evil.

Loyalty and mercy, truth and faithfulness, protect the king,And he upholds his throne by lovingkindness.

He who earnestly seeks righteousness and loyaltyFinds life, righteousness, and honor.

He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper,But whoever confesses and turns away from his sins will find compassion and mercy.
