'Mortal' in the Bible
So the Lord said, "My spirit will not remain in humankind indefinitely, since they are mortal. They will remain for 120 more years."
"Is a mortal man righteous before God? Or a man pure before his Creator?
Are your days like the days of a mortal, or your years like the years of a mortal,
how much less a mortal man, who is but a maggot -- a son of man, who is only a worm!"
Take note of my brief lifespan! Why do you make all people so mortal?
Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit, but righteousness delivers from mortal danger.
Wealth does not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from mortal danger.
"I, I am the one who consoles you. Why are you afraid of mortal men, of mere human beings who are as short-lived as grass?

and in one case tithes are received by mortal men, while in the other by him who is affirmed to be alive.
