He is like a tree planted by flowing streams; it yields its fruit at the proper time, and its leaves never fall off. He succeeds in everything he attempts.

A psalm of David. Lord, who may be a guest in your home? Who may live on your holy hill? Whoever lives a blameless life, does what is right, and speaks honestly.

Who is allowed to ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may go up to his holy dwelling place? The one whose deeds are blameless and whose motives are pure, who does not lie, or make promises with no intention of keeping them. Such godly people are rewarded by the Lord, and vindicated by the God who delivers them.

I will not even consider doing what is dishonest. I hate doing evil; I will have no part of it. I will have nothing to do with a perverse person; I will not permit evil.

How blessed are those who promote justice, and do what is right all the time!

In the darkness a light shines for the godly, for each one who is merciful, compassionate, and just.

He stores up effective counsel for the upright, and is like a shield for those who live with integrity,

Discretion will protect you, understanding will guard you,

So you will walk in the way of good people, and will keep on the paths of the righteous.

Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit, but righteousness delivers from mortal danger.

The righteousness of the blameless will make straight their way, but the wicked person will fall by his own wickedness. The righteousness of the upright will deliver them, but the faithless will be captured by their own desires.

The wicked person earns deceitful wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a genuine reward. True righteousness leads to life, but the one who pursues evil pursues it to his own death.

The fruit of the righteous is like a tree producing life, and the one who wins souls is wise.

In the path of righteousness there is life, but another path leads to death.

No, this is the kind of fast I want. I want you to remove the sinful chains, to tear away the ropes of the burdensome yoke, to set free the oppressed, and to break every burdensome yoke. I want you to share your food with the hungry and to provide shelter for homeless, oppressed people. When you see someone naked, clothe him! Don't turn your back on your own flesh and blood! He will act like a refiner and purifier of silver and will cleanse the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will offer the Lord a proper offering.

We know that we have crossed over from death to life because we love our fellow Christians. The one who does not love remains in death.

and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing to him.
