'New' in the Bible
“Bring your worthless offerings no longer,Incense is an abomination to Me.New moon and sabbath, the calling of assemblies—I cannot endure iniquity and the solemn assembly.
“I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts,They have become a burden to Me;I am weary of bearing them.
The new wine mourns,The vine decays,All the merry-hearted sigh.
until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards.
Yet those who wait for the LordWill gain new strength;They will mount up with wings like eagles,They will run and not get tired,They will walk and not become weary.
“Coastlands, listen to Me in silence,And let the peoples gain new strength;Let them come forward, then let them speak;Let us come together for judgment.
“Behold, I have made you a new, sharp threshing sledge with double edges;You will thresh the mountains and pulverize them,And will make the hills like chaff.
“Behold, the former things have come to pass,Now I declare new things;Before they spring forth I proclaim them to you.”
Sing to the Lord a new song,Sing His praise from the end of the earth!You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it.You islands, and those who dwell on them.
“Behold, I will do something new,Now it will spring forth;Will you not be aware of it?I will even make a roadway in the wilderness,Rivers in the desert.
“You are wearied with your many counsels;Let now the astrologers,Those who prophesy by the stars,Those who predict by the new moons,Stand up and save you from what will come upon you.
“You have heard; look at all this.And you, will you not declare it?I proclaim to you new things from this time,Even hidden things which you have not known.
The nations will see your righteousness,And all kings your glory;And you will be called by a new nameWhich the mouth of the Lord will designate.
The Lord has sworn by His right hand and by His strong arm,“I will never again give your grain as food for your enemies;Nor will foreigners drink your new wine for which you have labored.”
Thus says the Lord,“As the new wine is found in the cluster,And one says, ‘Do not destroy it, for there is benefit in it,’So I will act on behalf of My servantsIn order not to destroy all of them.
“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth;And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind.
Then you will see this, and your heart will be glad,And your bones will flourish like the new grass;And the hand of the Lord will be made known to His servants,But He will be indignant toward His enemies.
“For just as the new heavens and the new earthWhich I make will endure before Me,” declares the Lord,“So your offspring and your name will endure.
“And it shall be from new moon to new moonAnd from sabbath to sabbath,All mankind will come to bow down before Me,” says the Lord.
