'North' in the Bible
Again the word of the Lord came to me inquiring, “What do you see?”And I replied, “I see a boiling pot, its lip tilted from the north to the south.”
Then the Lord said to me, “Disaster will be poured out from the north on all who live in the land.
In those days the house of Judah will join with the house of Israel, and they will come together from the land of the north to the land I have given your ancestors to inherit.”
Lift up a signal flag toward Zion.Run for cover! Don’t stand still!For I am bringing disaster from the north—a great destruction.
“Run for cover, Benjaminites,out of Jerusalem!Sound the ram’s horn in Tekoa;raise a smoke signal over Beth-haccherem,for disaster threatens from the north,even great destruction.
Listen! A noise—it is coming—a great commotion from the land to the north.The cities of Judah will be made desolate,a jackals’ den.
Look up and seethose coming from the north.Where is the flock entrusted to you,the sheep that were your pride?
Can anyone smash iron,iron from the north, or bronze?
but rather, ‘As the Lord lives who brought the Israelites from the land of the north and from all the other lands where He had banished them.’ For I will return them to their land that I gave to their ancestors.
but, ‘As the Lord lives, who brought and led the descendants of the house of Israel from the land of the north and from all the other countries where I had banished them.’ They will dwell once more in their own land.”
I am going to send for all the families of the north’—this is the Lord’s declaration—‘and send for My servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and I will bring them against this land, against its residents, and against all these surrounding nations, and I will completely destroy them and make them a desolation, a derision, and ruins forever.
all the kings of the north, both near and far from one another;that is, all the kingdoms of the world which are on the face of the earth.Finally, the king of Sheshach will drink after them.
The swift cannot flee,and the warrior cannot escape!In the north by the bank of the Euphrates River,they stumble and fall.

For I will soon stir up and bring against Babylonan assembly of great nations from the north country.They will line up in battle formation against her;from there she will be captured.Their arrows will be like those of a skilled warriorwho does not return empty-handed.
Look! A people comes from the north.A great nation and many kings will be stirred upfrom the remote regions of the earth.
Heaven and earth and everything in themwill shout for joy over Babylonbecause the destroyers from the northwill come against her.This is the Lord’s declaration.
