'Permission' in the Bible

After he had given permission, Paul stood on the steps and motioned with his hand to the people. When there was a great hush, he addressed them in the Hebrew language: >

Then Agrippa told Paul, "You have permission to speak for yourself." So Paul stretched out his hand and began his defense.

The next day, we touched at Sidon. Julius treated Paul kindly, and gave him permission to go to his friends and refresh himself.

Upon our arrival in Rome, Paul received permission to live by himself, guarded by a soldier.
