'Pleaded' in the Bible
Then Jesus got up and left the synagogue and went to Simon’s (Peter’s) house. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Him to help her.
When they reached Jesus, they pleaded with Him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy for You to grant this,
Just then, a man named Jairus came. He was a leader of the synagogue. He fell down at Jesus’ feet and pleaded with Him to come to his house,
"But the gardener pleaded, "'Leave it, Sir, this year also, till I have dug round it and manured it.
"A second pleaded, "'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and am on my way to try them. Pray hold me excused.'
“Then he became angry and didn’t want to go in. So his father came out and pleaded with him.
"'No, father Abraham,' he pleaded; 'but if some one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.'
When this man heard that Jesus had come from Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and pleaded with Him to come down and heal his son, for he was about to die.
The royal official pleaded with Him, “Sir, do come down [at once] before my child dies!”
Now when we had heard this, both we and the local residents began pleading with Paul trying to persuade him not to go up to Jerusalem.
God has not cast off His People whom He knew beforehand. Or are you ignorant of what Scripture says in speaking of Elijah--how he pleaded with God against Israel, saying,
Concerning this, I pleaded with the Lord three times to take it away from me.
For Jesus during his earthly life offered up prayers and entreaties, crying aloud and weeping as He pleaded with Him who was able to bring Him in safety out of death, and He was delivered from the terror from which He shrank.
