'Prophesy' in the Bible
Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’
and said, “Prophesy to us, You Christ; who is the one who hit You?”
And He said to them, “Rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:‘This people honors Me with their lips,But their heart is far away from Me.
Some began to spit at Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him with their fists, and to say to Him, “Prophesy!” And the officers received Him with slaps in the face.
and they blindfolded Him and were asking Him, saying, “Prophesy, who is the one who hit You?”
‘And it shall be in the last days,’ God says,‘That I will pour forth of My Spirit on all mankind;And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,And your young men shall see visions,And your old men shall dream dreams;
Even on My bondslaves, both men and women,I will in those days pour forth of My SpiritAnd they shall prophesy.
Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
Now I wish that you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy; and greater is one who prophesies than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may receive edifying.
But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an ungifted man enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all;
For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all may be exhorted;
Therefore, my brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak in tongues.
And they *said to me, “You must prophesy again concerning many peoples and nations and tongues and kings.”
And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”
