'Scourge' in the Bible

know for certain that the Lord your God will not continue to drive these nations out before you. They will become a snare and a trap for you, a scourge for your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you disappear from this good land the Lord your God has given you.

For you said, “We have cut a deal with Death,and we have made an agreement with Sheol;when the overwhelming scourge passes through,it will not touch us,because we have made falsehood our refugeand have hidden behind treachery.”

Your deal with Death will be dissolved,and your agreement with Sheol will not last.When the overwhelming scourge passes through,you will be trampled.
