'Terrifying' in the Bible
The oracle concerning the wilderness of the sea.As windstorms in the Negev sweep on,It comes from the wilderness, from a terrifying land.
Then the king’s face grew pale and his thoughts alarmed him, and his hip joints went slack and his knees began knocking together.
After this I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrifying and extremely strong; and it had large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed and trampled down the remainder with its feet; and it was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.
Neither their silver nor their goldWill be able to deliver themOn the day of the Lord’s wrath; And all the earth will be devouredIn the fire of His jealousy,For He will make a complete end,Indeed a terrifying one,Of all the inhabitants of the earth.
The Lord will be terrifying to them, for He will starve all the gods of the earth; and all the coastlands of the nations will bow down to Him, everyone from his own place.
