'Understanding' in the Bible

“Wisdom is with aged men,With long life is understanding.

“With Him are wisdom and might;To Him belong counsel and understanding.

“For You have kept their heart from understanding,Therefore You will not exalt them.

“How long will you hunt for words?Show understanding and then we can talk.

“I listened to the reproof which insults me,And the spirit of my understanding makes me answer.

“He quieted the sea with His power,And by His understanding He shattered Rahab.

“But where can wisdom be found?And where is the place of understanding?

“Where then does wisdom come from?And where is the place of understanding?

“And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom;And to depart from evil is understanding.’”

“But it is a spirit in man,And the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding.

“Therefore, listen to me, you men of understanding.Far be it from God to do wickedness,And from the Almighty to do wrong.

Because God has made her forget wisdom,And has not given her a share of understanding.

“Is it by your understanding that the hawk soars,Stretching his wings toward the south?
