'Wish' in the Bible
"I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish that it had been kindled already!
But if it is questions concerning a word and names and {your own law}, see to [it] yourselves! I do not wish to be a judge of these [things]."
For I could wish myself to be accursed from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my fellow countrymen according to the flesh,
I wish all people could be like myself, but each one has his own gift from God, one in this way and another in that way.
I wish that you would put up with me {in something a little foolish}--but indeed you are putting up with me.
But I could wish to be present with you now, and to change my tone because I am perplexed about you.
I wish that the ones who are disturbing you would also {castrate themselves}!
These have the authority to shut the sky, so that {it does not rain} during the days of their prophecy. And they have authority over the waters, to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with every plague as often as they wish.
