'Worthless' in the Bible

Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment,for he is determined to follow what is worthless.

Israel has been devoured; now they will live among the nations like a worthless container.

They speak mere words,With worthless oaths they make covenants;And judgment sprouts like poisonous weeds in the furrows of the field.

Is there iniquity in Gilead?Surely they are worthless.In Gilgal they sacrifice bulls,Yes, their altars are like the stone heapsBeside the furrows of the field.
