'Writing' in the Bible

[I am writing about] what existed from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life [the One who existed even before the beginning of the world, Christ]—

We are writing these thingsso that our joy may be complete.

My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ the Righteous One.

Dear friends, I am not writing you a new command but an old command that you have had from the beginning. The old command is the message you have heard.

Yet I am writing you a new command, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.

I am writing to you, little children,because your sins have been forgivenbecause of Jesus’ name.

I am writing to you, fathers,because you have come to knowthe One who is from the beginning.I am writing to you, young men,because you have had victory over the evil one.

I am writing these things to you about those whose purpose is that you may be turned out of the true way.

I have put these things in writing for you who have faith in the name of the Son of God, so that you may be certain that you have eternal life.
