And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.

And he answered and said to them, Have ye not read, that he who made them, at the beginning made them male and female,

And said to him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith to them, Yes: have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner: This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?

But as concerning the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying,

When therefore ye shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoever readeth, let him understand,)

I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read to all the holy brethren.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Now they have known that all things whatever thou hast given me are from thee.

Ought not Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses, and all the prophets, he expounded to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

By which when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ,

But these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye may have life through his name.

And that from a child thou hast known the sacred scriptures, which are able to make thee wise to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

NUN. Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

For whatever things were written formerly, were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

My little children, these things I write to you, that ye sin not. And if any man sinneth, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, showing by the scriptures, that Jesus was Christ.

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, to another gospel: Which is not another; but there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach any other gospel to you than that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed.read more.
As we said before, so I say now again, If any man preacheth any other gospel to you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found by him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the long-suffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also, according to the wisdom given to him, hath written to you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, to their own destruction.

These things have I written to you concerning them that seduce you.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
