'Ask' in the Bible
This is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent to him priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”
Therefore the Samaritan woman *said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask me for a drink since I am a Samaritan woman?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
but how he now sees, we do not know; or who opened his eyes, we do not know. Ask him; he is of age, he will speak for himself.”
For this reason his parents said, “He is of age; ask him.”
Even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.”
these then came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and began to ask him, saying, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.”
Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.
In that day you will not question Me about anything. Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you.
Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.
In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I will request of the Father on your behalf;
I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours;
I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one.
“I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word;
