'Astonished' in the Bible
And this house will become a heap of ruins; everyone who passes by will be astonished and hiss and say, ‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’
As for this house, which was exalted, everyone who passes by it will be astonished and say, ‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’
“Look at me, and be astonished,And put your hand over your mouth.
Just as many were astonished at you, My people,So His appearance was marred more than any manAnd His form more than the sons of men.
And He saw that there was no man,And was astonished that there was no one to intercede; Then His own arm brought salvation to Him,And His righteousness upheld Him.
“I looked, and there was no one to help,And I was astonished and there was no one to uphold; So My own arm brought salvation to Me,And My wrath upheld Me.
To make their land a desolation,An object of perpetual hissing;Everyone who passes by it will be astonishedAnd shake his head.
I will also make this city a desolation and an object of hissing; everyone who passes by it will be astonished and hiss because of all its disasters.
“Look among the nations! Observe!Be astonished! Wonder!Because I am doing something in your days—You would not believe if you were told.
