Now, beholding the boldness of Peter and John, and perceiving that they were unlettered and ignorant men, they were wondering; they also were recognizing them, that they had been with Jesus;
for there must also be factions among you, that the approved may be made manifest among you.
"Take heed that ye do not your righteousness before men, to be seen by them, otherwise at least ye have no reward with your Father Who is in Heaven.
For, they refreshed my spirit and yours; therefore, recognize those who are such.
And we beseech you, brethren, to know those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
In this ye know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ hath come in flesh is of God;
But what I am doing, I also will do, that I may cut off the occasion from those desiring occasion, that wherein they glory they may be found even as we.
for he that eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the body.
for no one does anything in secret, and himself seeks to he known openly. If Thou doest these things, manifest Thyself to the world."
Having said these things, she turned back, and beholds Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.
And He said, "Verily I say to you, no prophet is acceptable in his own country.
When, therefore, you are doing alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say to you, they receive their reward.
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, would give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the full knowledge of Him;
that your alms may be in secret; and your Father, Who seeth in secret, will recompense you.
If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge the things that I write to you, that they are the Lord's commandment;
And, recognizing Him, the men of that place sent into all that region round about, and brought to Him all who were sick;
And the evil spirit, answering, said to them, "Jesus I know, and Paul I understand; but who are ye?"
And the people saw them going on their way, and many knew them, and they ran together there on foot from all the cities, and outwent them.

But from those reputed to be something (whatever they were, it matters not to me: God does not accept man's person): to me, in fact, those of repute added nothing;
And they were narrating the things that transpired in the way, and how He was made known to them in the breaking of the bread.
